On behalf of our member organizations and the communities they represent, we submit comment letters and testimony, provide advocacy training for local waterbody groups, and engage with agencies to protect and improve clean water resources in NYC.

Comment Letter

SWIM's letter to the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers points out concerns with the FiDi Fortifying Our Resilient Growth and Economy (FORGE) scoping report including public engagement deficiencies, lack of public information, stormwater management, impact on aquatic systems, equity concerns, and the need for a hybrid approach to coastal resilience.

Proposed Fiscal Year 2027 Water Rates

Comment Letter

SWIM's letter to the NYC Water Board calls for increased rates to be paired with equitable stormwater rate restructuring based on impervious area. In addition, the letter requests the release of the DEP's stormwater rate restructuring study, and permanently ending the water rental payment.
